National Scratch Day

Little Acorns celebrated National Scratch Day a day early, as this year it was held on Saturday 12th May. Scratch is a programming language where children can program and share interactive media such as stories, games and animations with people from all over the world. As programming is a new concept to the children in Little Acorns we spent time getting to understand giving commands and instructions to the class Beebots. We had children programming a Beebot to move around a race track, using the Beebot app on the iPads, using the computer Beebot mats to find different letter sounds and finally we had children giving commands to a child dressed up as a Beebot outside.
