Little Acorns have been busy learning all about real Superheroes this term. First, we discussed what a superhero is and the characteristics of Superheroes. We then read “Real Superheroes – A Celebration of Key Workers” by Julia Seal. After, we spent a week learning all about those who work within the NHS and had a visit from a nurse. The following week, we focused our learning on Police and Firefighters and found out what number to call in an emergency. The children even had a go at putting a fire out in the outdoor area using buckets of water and a hose! To end our learning of Superheroes the children designed and made their own Superhero gingerbread people with Mrs Brown. They looked and smelt amazing! The children understand that we are all so lucky to have real superheroes around us to help when we are in need.
